PUBG Mobile Asian Games 2026: Vietnam Fourth After Day 1

Vietnam's PUBG Mobile team has made a strong start at the PUBG Mobile Asian Games 2026, sitting fourth on the overall table after Day 1 at Aichi-Nagoya. Six games done, 51 points on the board, and a medal still very much in play with six more games to come on Day 2.

How Day 1 Went for Vietnam

The opening was rough. Vietnam managed just two points in Game 1 and one in Game 2, and it looked like the day would slip away early. Then the team flipped the switch, taking first place in two back-to-back games and stacking up points fast. Game 5 added another 17 points to the tally before a single point in Game 6 closed out the day.

At this event, points come from both finishing position and eliminations, so teams can't just hide and survive. With Vietnam only four points behind Indonesia and 10 behind China, the gap at the top is not scary. One clean game on Day 2 can wipe it out.

Vietnam Under the Microscope

There's a reason eyes are on this squad. Two Vietnamese players were banned for life from PUBG competition after a controversy at an Asian PUBG exhibition tournament the previous week, which put Vietnamese PUBG under heavy scrutiny right before the Asiad.

That ban relates to PUBG: Battlegrounds, the PC title from Krafton. PUBG Mobile is a completely separate mobile game, developed by Tencent's Lightspeed Studios and published in Vietnam by VNG, so the ban does not touch this roster.

What Vietnam Need on Day 2

Six more games are scheduled, and staying in medal contention comes down to consistency. Low-scoring games are what kill a run at this level, so Vietnam cannot afford another 1-2 point game.
