PUBG Mobile Asian Games Finals: The Medal Event Returns

PUBG Mobile is back as an official esports medal event at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The finals will take place from September 28 to 29 at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan. Twelve national teams will battle it out across 12 matches for a spot on the podium. This is the second time PUBG Mobile has been included as an official medal event, following the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. It is also the only battle royale title in the esports lineup this time, with teams from 27 National Olympic Committees involved from the qualifiers through to the finals.

How The Teams Qualified

The road to the finals began with a qualifier stage that featured national Olympic committee teams from 27 countries. The 12-team final field is made up of:

• Eight teams that came through the preliminary finals held last June in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
• The three medal-winning teams from the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games
• The host nation's Japanese national team

Pakistan topped the preliminary finals after three gruelling days of competition, where 23 squads were fighting for a spot. They booked their ticket alongside seven other qualifiers. The 12 participating nations are:

• South Korea
• Chinese Taipei
• Vietnam
• Thailand
• Malaysia
• Indonesia
• Myanmar
• Uzbekistan
• Jordan
• Pakistan

Format And Maps

The tournament runs over two days with six matches per day, adding up to 12 matches. The first four matches each day will be played on Erangel, and the remaining two on Miramar. Final standings will be decided by combining placement points and kill points earned across both days.

Who To Watch

Japan will have home turf cheers behind them as they chase a podium finish. Pakistan walk in as the team to beat after topping the qualifiers. South Korea, silver medalists at Hangzhou 2022, will be eyeing an upgrade to gold. China and Chinese Taipei, who took gold and bronze respectively at the 2022 Asian Games, will also be in the medal hunt. Every team is playing for national pride and a medal.
