KRAFTON has launched the Battlin app, pitched as India's first unified esports tournament platform built around BGMI — and it opens with Battlin Open Season 1, an event with ₹20 lakh on the line and direct slots into BGIS and BMIC for the taking. The platform was unveiled at a press event in Hyderabad during the Battlegrounds Mobile India Showdown 2026.

How The Battlin Tournament Platform Works

The idea is simple: no more bouncing between WhatsApp groups, Discord servers and random third-party sign-up pages. Open competitions are listed daily inside the app, so you can browse, filter by format or timing, and register without knowing an organiser or waiting on an invite. Squad registration, match play, results and standings all sit in one place. You can join as an individual or a full squad, and you get notifications when matches are about to begin.

Reward conditions and payout timelines are shown before you register rather than after you win, which matters in Indian BGMI circles where late or missing prizes have been the loudest complaint. If you do not have the game yet, grab it from our BGMI download page first.

Why A Single Platform Matters For Indian Esports

India's BGMI scene runs on volume — college fests, community cups, scrims and open qualifiers pop up almost every week. The shortage was never players, it was scattered forms, unclear rules and results nobody can verify. Having KRAFTON run the India esports tournament platform gives everyone a shared, official home and cuts down on the fake tournament links doing the rounds.

James Yongkwan Kim, Lead – Battlin at KRAFTON, said India has a strong base of competitive players but the path from casual play into serious competition is fragmented. Battlin is the company's attempt to close that gap, with rewards made transparent and managed by the platform.

Hosting Your Own BGMI Tournaments Online

Battlin is not just for competitors. Individuals, creators, colleges, gaming cafés and gaming organisations can run their own events on the same infrastructure used for official competitions. Setting it up, opening registrations, scheduling, managing rooms, notifying participants, running brackets and paying out rewards all happen on the platform, and KRAFTON reckons putting a tournament together should take an evening instead of a week. Crucially, reward disbursement is handled by Battlin itself rather than whoever ran the match, which adds real trust to smaller community events. There is no entry fee for any tournament hosted on the app.

The app supports three tiers of tournaments:

  • Stage 1: Casual tournaments alongside friends or people you know.
  • Stage 2: Larger-scale open tournaments with no prize pool attached.
  • Stage 3: Full-fledged tournaments with prize pools, where organisers and sponsors are vetted by the Battlin team.

KRAFTON has stressed that competition on Battlin remains purely skill-based, with no wagering, staking or betting mechanic involved. Rewards follow results, and payouts are handled transparently through the platform.

The developers have also built in a leaderboard system that records wins, ratings and even a history of cheating, giving players concrete data to gain recognition and a chance to move on to bigger official tournaments. On fair play, Kim said KRAFTON is testing AI tools that can capture suspicious in-game behaviour, while a pre-game evaluation checks whether a phone is jailbroken or the BGMI app has been downloaded through less than legitimate means. Players also go through a trust score check before being allowed to participate or host.

At the moment BGMI is the only game supported by the app. Kim said that if they get the opportunity to add other games, including non-KRAFTON titles, they will.

Battlin Open Season 1: Prize Pool And BMIC Slot

The opener is aimed squarely at new teams and new players rather than the established names on the circuit. It is the first tournament organised on Battlin, and registrations are open till 1 November 2026 with more than 5,000 slots available. Competition begins on 2 November and runs through two parallel tracks until the Track 2 finale on 29 November 2026. Here is how the ₹20 lakh is split:

  • Track 1: ₹5 lakh prize pool plus a direct qualification slot into the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS).
  • Track 2: ₹15 lakh prize pool, and the winner becomes the first-ever Battlin Open champion.

A direct BGIS slot changes how a squad plans its calendar, because it offers a route into the bigger circuit that does not run through the usual qualifier grind. The combined prize pool stands at ₹20 lakh, so treat the final figure as subject to the official post. The full format and prize split are expected to be confirmed closer to the event.

This is also the first proper stress test of the BGMI tournament app at scale, so expect early brackets to fill fast. Keep an eye on the BGMI official site and the in-game esports section for updates, and get your BGMI tournaments registration done inside the app before the window shuts.
