S8UL's run was the comeback of the tournament. They sat ninth after Day 1 with just 34 points, climbed to fourth by the end of Day 2 on 88, and then on Day 3 a 13-finish WWCD on Erangel in Match 14 carried them past the 126-point Smash Point and put the title within reach of a single match win. The roster of Nakul, LeGIT, Joker, Goblin and Thunder got it done.

Five teams each from Korea and Japan join India's six qualifiers for a 16-team field, and they will play 18 matches over three days.
The teams that did not make it include Version1 x Blue Army, seventh on 122, just 1 behind the team above. Team Apex Gaming finished 10th on 98, REVENANT XSPARK 11th on 89 and Godlike Esports 15th on 68, with 15 points separating them from the team above.
Gladiators turned it on late

S8UL stayed in the fight with 67 that day and Version1 x Blue Army matched them with 67. Before that, 8BIT had led the way on day one with 63, the most that day, and Gladiators had topped day two with 55.
8BIT BMSD 2026 was the story of the Grand Finals. They dominated large parts of it, finished with three Chicken Dinners, the most of any team in the top six, and still ended up 1 point behind Gladiators. Juicy, who took his team to a grand final podium for the first time, had them on 116 points after day two. They secured one of India's six qualification spots through their third-place finish and now head into BMIC 2026.

Mazy pushes back on the criticism
Not everyone is convinced the top six will hold up at BMIC. Mazy hit back at that criticism directly. He said the logic of a team coming into the top six and then being written off does not make sense to him, and pointed out that teams in the top six have improved to get there. When no new team shows up, people complain about that too, he added.
Jonathan's word for TAG's fans
Jonathan spoke about Team Apex Gaming's fans during the BMSD 2026 Grand Finals. He said TAG supports you and that a game should be fun whoever wins. Team Apex Gaming finished 10th on 98 points.
S8UL's 2026 has been eventful: the organisation also won Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) 2026, taking home ₹1 crore, and now adds the BMSD title before heading to BMIC 2026.
In other news, Krafton India has renamed BGMI Lite to BGMI Air, and pre-registrations for the upcoming title have already crossed the 10 million milestone.
